One of many reasons "birth control" is bad framing is it helps feed the hooey that the pill is an abortifacient. We're not "controlling birth" we're preventing pregnancy in the first place.

So what’s the term we should use?
Contraception or Family Planning. Have tested it. "Birth Control" reinforces the story that all pregnancies necessarily lead to birth. And they really don't. This, in addition to implying it ends pregnancy, which it doesn't.
