Might we soon consider to eliminate the use of the word "race?" It's a construct, a tool created by Carolus Linneaus, a botanist who, among others, took to comparing human forms to establish superiority. Instead ask why are we of all ethnicities or cultures being left behind...
Absolutely true that race is construct. But, like many constructs (see gender) it has incredibly potency. Not talking about it doesn't eliminate strategic racism. It merely leaves convo about race totally in right wing voice.
