We’ve had fires throughout the year consistently for a few seasons. Climate, changed.

yes, exactly.

Davis Fire Crew, Type2. The extreme fire behavior is frightening, the fire storms and that Carr Fire Tornado. Our crews aren’t safe and we’re losing firefighters too often. Im afraid we’re running on dumb luck with communities ability to evacuate a fire storm.
-
I totally agree with you and think at this point there needs to be way more prevention work done- but that’s hard now bc when can you do prescribed burning when the fires never stop?
-
The droughts dead trees in California alone would require the removal of like 250,000 trees a day for a year. Managed forests are a historical option because the lack of moisture creates Fire Tornadoes, regardless of the amount of fuels.
-
I never said anything about clear-cutting or removing trees. There are a lot of different ways to manage forests, and to mitigatw fire behavior.
-
Its been frightening here so there’s a bit of discussion on what we can do that’s preventative. I have yet to hear half ass approach. I dunno.
-
I’m so sorry you’re going through this, and your community is going through this. I hope we can find some solutions.
