Literally just spent the past few days dealing with a local nutter defending RMSs pedophilia apologia. Free and open source software is not worth more than actual women and girls.

The problem of free software is that it is treat not just as an ideology, but as the only ideology that matters. On my side I've been dealing with people who think free software is more important than opposing fascism. No surprise the same shitty attitude extends to other things.

I think there are pretty serious underlying problems in the open comm as a whole. There'a lot of work to be done to retheorise open. We need to rethink: * Decolonisation * Value of Labour * Theory of Change * Dismantling Structures of Power * Co-option of Progressive Rhetoric

Yeah I don't think that's a fair thing to put on the communists. Clean up the community, get the values right, and commies will join in. There's a reason they aren't there, and it's because fsf and foss aren't lefty communities or causes.

why foss and fsf can't be "lefty" communities or causes? ps.: I'm actually not with Stallman on all that shit, he should be at least banned from MIT, of course. but I don't think the same about his conquests on doing GNU and copyleft/foss philosophy

I don't think that a single commie in the world is in favor of proprietary licenses. as well as communism, foss understand work as necessarily collective work (any person is considered equal to contribute to or use foss projects), with products being made from society for society
