question from a fan. What kind of advice do you think a typical but somewhat shrewd medieval eel consumer in Europe who lived in near constant fear of Sweating Sickness might have for the Covid-19 era about “celebrating holidays with family.”

Well...you'll want to avoid going to crowded coronation ceremonies. And it might be a good idea to surround yourself with eels. This wouldn't work for a medieval gathering, but in modern upstate NY your friends and family will probably give you a wide berth. Socieel distancing!
