In the mid aughts, I learned how to “Paste Special” 
“Unformatted Unicode Text” in Word at an internship, and, truly, the dividends it’s paid in time-saving are unquantifiable. So much more value came of that experience; yet a tiny Microsoft shortcut is my daily reminder of it.

Grab AutoHotKeys (for Windows) and you can map keys on your keyboard to send keys to your app. I do this so that, while running Word, "Control-Shift-V" is "Alt-E S"
