There are at least 4 hackathons taking place within Rochester between now and the end of April. 5 if you include the Global Game Jam that just happened a week or so ago.

While I love the orgs behind the hackathons along with seeing hackathons pop up and more opportunities for students and the community to work on projects together, I'm wondering if we'll see any burnout from hackathon attendees.

I'm also worried about the region being able to financially support all of them in the long term.

On the bright side, most of them have specific audiences and goals for their communities. It might be worth bringing all of the hackathon leaders within the region together to see how everyone can support each other.

Speaking of hackathons, I'm curious about the data on how many attendees come from out of town or are inspired to stay locally post-graduation after attending a local hackathon.
