I have a friend who is a doctor at a hospital in San Diego, and she told me that she’s lost count of the number of ER patients she’s seen who come in with e-scooter injuries. Referring to them as death traps, she said some victims have ended up with permanent, disfiguring scars.
Ana - any chance your friend mentioned what the inherent problem is? Is it the scooter design or something about them? Or are the users doing things they shouldn't? I'm legit curious about this.
She said it’s because of user error — scooters look fun and easy to use so people ride them too fast and don’t look out for hazards. Also people don’t wear helmets.
