1918, Alexander Tahou, Rochester, NY. The white hot came about a few years later, from German-American immigrant living in #ROC. @zweigleshots took it commercial in 1925 and haven’t quit since, mostly because pop-opens are indisputably superior to all other forms of hot dog.
