To all my product peeps - at SRCCON IRL and in spirit - I‘d be remiss to not point out that is assembling a dream squad to help reimagine political journalism in service of our audience and mission. I’d love to talk to you about it. @ me!

This is quite a story. An about-face by Disney after a story first reported by blew up across dozens of national media outlets big and small, including WaPo, CNN, HuffPo and NYT. And now the next installment...

Yes, is one of the most empathetic colleagues/bosses I've had the pleasure of working with. Yes, it's a key ingredient to the culture we're building at . Yes, we need more empathetic leadership in news. Period.

I’m seeing a bunch of you (some with blue ticks) retweeting photos of “mistakes” on Iowa forms that were originally tweeted by accounts with weird usernames, zero followers, and no history. These photos might not be real. Check your sources before you RT, thank you.

Why were they even building an app to essentially support 1700 secure form submissions — no doubt this software already exists, tested and true at scale

. & left The Texas Tribune to start a national nonprofit news org for women... "I had the best job in American journalism. & I left it for a total unknown. Does that keep me up at night? Absolutely. But I’m also about to have the time of my life." ()

Journo lesson of the week: Talk to EVERYBODY. If it’s in your notebook, you’ll *always* have a story. In my career, on the days I have to choose, I aim to be a better reporter than I am a writer. 🗒✏️👩🏾‍💻

Another PSA for the technophobic journalists (some of them TECH JOURNALISTS) writing about this today: Please stop pushing the Russia/cybersecurity narrative until we know what happened. It is at least (I’m being generous) as likely someone just made lousy software.

Because churches are not the religious setting where candidates court white voters; they tend to show up instead at annual religious convenings. Imagine the press showing up at white churches tomorrow anyway to see what, if any, is the message to congregants about the caucuses.
