The new stuff is much harder to fight! Largely because it goes back to all the shit they were doing for 50+ years before climate denial.

Really cannot underscore enough how important it is for folks to understand that this industry narrowed the frame for understanding environmental problems, and for the sorts of solutions we could ever consider, a *really* long time before climate change appeared.

Climate denial was a tactic, and a really pernicious and effective one and that was bad, but you really gotta see it in context. If you want to know more, I made a whole damn website and document archive on it

Also, as and point out in their new book, the PR industry was basically created to help industry message around environmental (and labor) issues. The reason they're so good at it now is they've been at it for more than a century
