Please don't celebrate the pace at which science developed vaccines without mentioning the gross & utter disregard for getting vaccines to people. These charts are gutting. So many countries where vaccines aren't expected until 2023. 'Many in the U.S. government view efforts to help other nations fight COVID-19 as part of — if not primarily — a competition with China. Some of them want the American flag on every vial'. Until vaccine IP waiver under WTO negotiations, equity shall remain a mirage.

Instead of ranting-western rich countries are not following morality, solidarity etc, spend time to encourage governments &companies to increase vaccines production. With limited production of vaccines, prices will be high & companies will focus on rich countries.Morality is dead.

This is not accurate. One red country in the Middle East is Iraq. They have vaccines & been begging ppl to vaccinate. As well as other middle eastern countries that are marked as light blue/orange & red. according to relatives that live there. They have Pfizer as well

It's sad and scary. What rich nations dont realize is that this is a global effort.Leaving so many unvaxxed worldwide ⬆️chances for worse variants to develop.3 doses is just as bandaid soln to a really huge problem without #VaccineEquity .

So much of getting vaccines to other countries depends on creating the infrastructure needed to actually get shots in arms. @ASlavitt’s latest podcast episode explains this in detail.

G7 politicians & #BigPharma, enabled by their investors - including #ESG firms - got the vaccines to the people who, today, matter. That's why #vaccineapartheid is the right name for what we have today. This @bmj_latest editorial is a must read https://www.bmj.com/content/374/bmj.n2027 …pic.twitter.com/UTnLkpYoWW

Excuse the double negative but it’s not okay to dismiss this scientific achievement.
