The CDC has now confirmed that the Trump administration authored their own "science" in the @CDCMMWR. This may have led to people dying, but there are zero repercussions. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/communication/Guidance-Review.pdf …

I'm just one of many reporters who were screaming last year about political meddling in science. This is why we need the press to hold leaders to account. eghttps://twitter.com/amymaxmen/status/1286468328568037379 …

Trump said he would interfere with public health advice, and he has, and actual people that are neither in the CDC nor in the administration will pay the price. https://twitter.com/ASlavitt/status/1286457428083695622 … pic.twitter.com/1TKugr35Rc

What a flashback to last year...this was so ugly for those of us who *once* looked at the CDC reports as the straightest form of investigation.https://twitter.com/amymaxmen/status/1298675040074907648 …

Yup. This one also introduces the subject by saying that summer camps are a $26 billion industry. Notably, it's not authored by the CDC. Two authors work for camps, and one camp is owned by the author's spouse. pic.twitter.com/Ukfj2YVQZL

Hmm I don’t think this is accurate? Schuchat’s report doesn’t mention MMWR at all, if I’m not mistaken. (Also, it seems pretty routine for CDC journals like MMWR and EID to publish articles by external scientists in addition to those authored by in house staff)

None of that matters, she's got a talking point to make and random tweets about school guidelines that are not based in science.

(TYSM for your eagle eye and for confirming my suspicions on some of those docs. It's comforting when the red flags are seen and felt by others.)
