I oppose voter suppression too. I do however support the suppression of fraudulent voting.

You need an ID to purchase alcohol, certain game/movie, cigarettes, open bank account, food stamps, welfare, social security, job, house, drive a car, get on a plane, get married, purchase a gun, rent a hotel room, fishing/hunting license, cell phone, go to a casino, prescription

And you should automatically get a voter card of some type before you turn 18, so you have it from the first day you're eligible to vote. Naturalized citizens should receive one on the day they take their oath. It should not be invalidated for any reason besides incarceration.

if the problem with a photo on the voter ID is cost, why doesn't the government fund this? No photo makes the ID less reliable. or is that what you want?
