As a mom & music lover, mind blown. Today my son & his bandmate, Jonah Cuddy & Bebe Stockwell, released their 1st single, Drive (band: Fall Line). They wrote & recorded it at age 16. Sumptuous, romantic, ethereal, gorgeous guitar & vocals. PLEASE LISTEN:

There’s a lot of understandable fear & anxiety around . It’s a rapidly evolving situation and accurate data are scarce. A plea to everyone: - Elevate experts - Amplify facts - Provide context - Highlight limitations -Avoid unnecessary fearmongering

When I talk about how breathing slowly & deeply is yet another way to expand & express power nonverbally, this it. We are expanding both physically & temporarily, triggering a relaxation response that lets our nervous systems know that we're safe. cc

2/2 As the Grateful Dead's brilliant lyricist Robert Hunter explained: "I feel that a straightforward statement of my original intent robs the listener of personal associations and replaces them with my own. I may know where they come from, but I don't know where they've been."

1/2 The desire to understand exactly what the songwriter intended their song to mean is age-old. A need to connect with something we love? To feel validated? I've come to believe, though, that each beloved song has an idiosyncratic meaning for each listener -- and that's okay...

A tremendous loss, indeed! Kathy was one of the most brilliant, tenacious, principled, yet kind and generous scholars I have ever met. She will be missed by so many and in so many ways. May she Rest In Peace.

Crushing, heartbreaking news. Kathy was magical in her ability to add light to everything she touched, personally and professionally. I grieve not only for her, but for her lovely family, and all of us her life touched. She will be sorely missed.

How to be gracious about this loss? It’s just not right. Kathy was much more than a brilliant scholar; she was one of the rare people who ALWAYS did the right thing, regardless of the cost to her — & a mentor & friend who shaped the way I & many others interact with the world.

I was going to a Dead show in Chicago, checking in at a nice hotel, wearing my work clothes. filled the lobby. The man at check-in leaned in & quietly said, "I'm so sorry about the riffraff." I leaned over the counter & quietly said, "It's okay. I AM the riffraff."
