Appalling to think Australia would simply abandon these men after over 8 years of torment. A complete farce in every way and a cautionary tale for any govt thinking of going down this dreadful path

I have spent the last 4 years on the road talking to every day Australians & if there is one thing I am utterly convinced of it's this: there is goodness in this land, generosity in our communities. We just need morally decent leadership.

Finally some good news for the refugees stranded on this boat, once again a huge thanks to the humanity shown by Acehnese fisherman, ensuring they were rescued

  7. Incredible story of courage and humanity. The Australian Govt / who have currently resettled relatively few people from Afghanistan could safely and quickly resettle these brave women, many who have family and connections here.

The situation facing in Denmark is extremely dire but the world is watching, this powerful video shows how individual action can be taken directly to govts, importantly by those who are personally impacted by these appalling policies

I am a firm believer in taking people with us, towards more inclusive communities & neighbourhoods. Its why I joined four years ago. We need to call out problems. But we also need to be genuinely, open to fixing those problems together.

  19. After 2 years without executions, three death row inmates were hanged in today. This abhorrent resumption of executions is a damning indictment of the government’s lack of respect for the right to life.

This really important investigation reinforces what has been saying for years about US air strikes: they kill far more civilians than the US admits & no one is held accountable.
