    I'm not too sure how important affordability is in judging, but from that POV, for the three winner to have a base price less than $30,000 is actually what would make them best/COTY-worthy in a marketplace. From the POV of innovation and tech, should've been the EVs.

    Well, fuck. That’s a shame. Thanks to everyone who helped us (and me) try to make something of DT. Heartened to know it’s kickstarted several careers for people, and I’ve made a lot of good friends from it. It just got a bit harder to get into journalism.

    Here we go! The first concept from this year's (part-virtual, part-real) : the Vision , a research vehicle designed to be "the most efficient Mercedes-Benz ever built" with energy use < 10 kWh/100 km (efficiency > 6 miles/kWh). Does it look like a Mercedes to you?

    Not really unpopular, just logical really The most sensible locations I've recharged at weren't hypermarkets like Walmart, but rather convenience stores like Wawa and Sheetz

    Unpopular take: Convenience store/gas stations are the future of interstate highway DCFC locations. Why? They already have everything you want at a charging location that current DCFC locations lack.
