Three-year olds are forced to defend themselves in immigration and asylum court hearings (without guardians or council), the outcome of which could be deportation. This is some seriously sick, depraved evil shit that I can’t even wrap my head around. WTF.

Someday my grandchildren are going to ask me, “didn’t you know open office plans were terrible?”, and I’m going to respond, “yes, everybody knew, but somehow nobody could do anything about it.”

Wife: Ballerina Toast? 2yo: Babaly Dost. Me: He's trying to say "Probably Ghost". He can't make 'G' or 'K' sounds. So it is hilarious to tech him big words and watch him try to say it back to us.

Netflix doesn't have the concept of referral bonuses so if you ever get referred for a job by someone at Netflix, it's simply because they think you'd be awesome to work with 😎.

I was wrong. Turns out I had fat fingered the port number when trying to connect from psql. The argument order may not matter, I just don't know for sure. :/

This is the kind of shit that makes me advise young programmers to quit while they're ahead. Learn a craft or skill that is actually logical, like organic soy farming or raising free-range hamsters.

The difference is one of them will do the right thing and actually do the port mapping while the other pretends to do the right thing and ruin 20 mins of your life. After double checking my commands and reading the documentation, I finally found out the order of options matter.

    Can you tell the difference between `sudo docker run --name some-postgres -p 5432:5434 -e POSTGRES_PASSWORD=postgres -d postgres_pgpartman` and `sudo docker run --name postgres -d -p 5432:5434 -e POSTGRES_PASSWORD=postgres postgres_pgpartman `

BASH will tell you that there are suspended jobs. But fish goes the extra mile to tell you what those suspended jobs are and how to keep them alive if you choose to do so. Such a thoughtful design. Thank you!
