The problem is the environment you have around you. In Brazilian startup culture, working 12h straight is so glorified that you’re judge as “not dedicated” if you don’t do it.
Based on that I appreciate when people like @dhh speak against it.

My core point is that it’s a fallacy to follow any person or environment blindly. For example, going after balance in your 20s might not be the best advice either as it depends on the context and what you want from life.

Funny how many people don’t appreciate how in control they are of their own lives
