People with increased risk, like me due to my family history, can get screened earlier. I got checked this week, which I’m sharing in order to spread awareness about the disease and the prevention steps that we can take. Prevention and awareness can help save lives.

Two weeks ago, The launched 24/7 crisis services for LGBTQ young people in Mexico. I’m so grateful that our organization can now support Mexican LGBTQ youth with 24/7 crisis services, and grateful to our partners that have worked for years to protect them.

This month, the Mexico Senate voted to prohibit the discredited practice of conversion therapy. Thank you for taking the necessary steps toward protecting LGBTQ people, and sending a message to LGBTQ youth in Mexico that they are perfect the way they are.

Breaking: Akron just voted unanimously to prohibit conversion therapy! Thank you so much to , community advocates, grassroots organizers, and local leadership who have worked hard to protect LGBTQ youth from this discredited and dangerous practice.

I am proud to be a part of this global movement to support LGBTQ young people because every LGBTQ young person–regardless of where they were born or what country they live in–deserves access to resources that affirm who they are and provide them with the support they deserve.

As is the case in the U.S., suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people in Mexico. Overall, 28.7% of the LGBTQ population has thought about or attempted suicide at some point in their lives.

We believe that all LGBTQ young people — regardless of what country they live in — deserve the life-saving resources that The offers. Every LGBTQ young person in the world deserves to know that their mental health matters, and they always deserve love and support.

At the White House, he talked about not letting the hatred of others cause us to give in to hatred and animosity, and the whole night was a reminder of how powerful love and joy can be in creating a brighter future for LGBTQ youth and all people.
