I wrote an honest piece about what I'm frustrated by in crypto

"seek discomfort", "stay hard", "just do it" the language is interchangeable but the core idea is the same: stop making excuses, stop running away, just get it done.
everyone is different but imho more people's mental health would benefit from this mindset

i think the cultural discourse on mental health, while sometimes productive, has started to become an excuse for us (me before anyone else) to avoid taking ownership/responsibility for our actions.
personally i've noticed i am much happier and healthier when i stopped doing this

yesterday night we had an event where we ate a lot of cake.
we felt guilty so we did a MURPH (1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats) at 12am
culture would benefit more from "stay hard" mentality, where we just have to suck it up and get it done

if u have a lot of money, this is probably one of the best philanthropic initiatives you could run that would massively benefit society (think like a thiel fellowship/emergent venture style thing but for supporting people all around the world)

assuming the most talented people are all gonna be successful no matter what (whp), there is a unique opportunity to support them at *literally* the earliest stages. imagine the leg up in eventually competing with other term sheets when you've been there since day -1...

if you're a vc, there is a massive arbitrage opportunity to create "accelerators" for the most talented people before they start companies and are still exploring. The incubators/accelerators market is highly saturated, but there are virtually no programs for soon-to-be founders

a first pass on what 'pseudonym-powered' discussion might feel like for from
notice the ability to post from 3 types of 'identity':
1. 'doxed', i.e Seneca
2. persistent pseudonym (i.e. Mr. Noun)
3. heyanoun-style anon (i.e. Anon)

summer vibe is when people ask you what you're building at tech events, you take off ur shirt and they gasp in awe.
we must take the definition of it's time to build to new heights 🫡

everyone talking about gpt4 today but no one talking about OpenAI's subtle marketing/product work: promo-style video reminiscent of Apple launches, sleek website with bold designs/colors, strategic launch on Pi day etc.
Big early Apple vibes and it's ingenious 🫡

more people should court new friends / crushes by asking them if they want to work on a project (software, art, writing etc.) together

main unanticipated positive externality of increasingly democratized ai infrastructure is more people spinning up 1-off toys, hacks, and builds to solve fun, random, or obscure problems for themselves and their friends/families/communities
