If all these folks were driving, this street would be intolerably congested with cars.
Cities should prioritize and design for sustainable transportation modes.
Every North American city says they have a parking problem or a traffic problem. Let’s call it what it is. Every North American city has a car problem.

Good news: Automakers are finally realizing that car touchscreens are a disaster.
Drivers hate them, and they're also dangerously distracting. Buttons and knobs are poised for a comeback.

“So next time you are talking to a city official, or better yet, the traffic planner/engineer in charge of the street – ask them if they can do something about the corner radius. Or point out the dangers of the slip lane and ask them to close it.”

Drivers - even government-employed, fleet drivers - are humans. Just asking them to drive safely isn't realistic. We need to ensure that cars, themselves, are safe.
It's a one-time cost that pays dividends.

Then, reach out to lawmakers. Not a lot of gov'ts have acted on this yet - NYC got a lot of press because it was novel - but it's a chance to do something BIG for road safety. Call mayors, execs, city managers and let them know this is a new (but proven!) solution.
So you're wondering: How do I get ISA in the fleet vehicles in my city?
First, reach out to advocates & orgs working on street safety. Ask if they're working on ISA!

This is an investment AND a way to prove that safety matters.
