    You might not like what is trying to do with its culture (I do like it), but at least it’s not contributing to the too-wide gap between what companies say and how they behave. , how do you like their team analogy?

    Adam nails it. If companies are families even the better ones are mighty dysfunctional families. I love the honesty from Netflix here—their classic culture deck states they are not a family and a better description is a professional sports team. That’s radical candor!

    This whole thread is GREAT, and it gives us a mantra: “In that act of making is where the deepest lessons took place”

    The class required them to go beyond stating the problem, or assigning blame. They not only had to suggest a solution, they had to implement it. And in that act of making, is where the deepest lessons took place. /3

    As time passes I realize how right has been all along about the huge difficulty of achieving full autonomy in the real, human-built world.

    Super disappointing, but this is a hard problem. We will get there, just not everywhere at the same level maybe, and not everywhere at the same time.
