  1. Congratulations to for his successful rally in Miami this weekend. The U.S. stands with the people of Venezuela. The sooner Maduro is gone, the sooner is the possibility of justice and real economic growth for the Venezuelan people.

  2. Brexit is done! Happy first full day of UK Independence as they reclaim their sovereignty from the EU. Brexit reflects deeply held views that the British enjoy governing themselves & are done surrendering their interests to the EU bureaucracy

  3. Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day & the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. the victims who perished during the Holocaust. Antisemitism is a threat not just to Jews but to society as a whole. We must fight it wherever we see it.

  4. Great meeting today with Cindy and Fred Warmbier. Sadly, they know better than anyone of the brutality and dishonesty of the Kim Jung Un regime.

  5. Maduro tells the Washington Post he wants negotiations with the United States? The only negotiations we should have with Maduro are what he wants for lunch on the plane that will take him to permanent exile in Cuba or Russia. Viva Venezuela libre.

  6. The Khamenei regime has never been under more stress. Regime change is in the air. The people of Iran can see it. America, Europe and France should not try to prop it up or negotiate with its illegitimate representatives.

  7. Congratulations to the people of Taiwan for yet another free and fair election, and to President Tsai Ing-wen for her re-election. There is a lesson here for China: do not interfere in Taiwan’s elections - or in America’s!

The 1973 War Powers Resolution is unconstitutional. It reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of how the Constitution allocated foreign affairs authority between the President and Congress. The Resolution should be repealed.

Another good day. Iran rips the mask off the idea it ever fully complied with the nuclear deal, or that it made a strategic decision to forswear nuclear weapons. Now, it's on to the real job: effectively preventing the ayatollahs from getting such a capability.

Congratulations to all involved in eliminating Qassem Soleimani. Long in the making, this was a decisive blow against Iran's malign Quds Force activities worldwide. Hope this is the first step to regime change in Tehran.

Crisis over U.S. Embassy Baghdad appears to be easing. But Iran should stop arming, training and financing Iraqi Shia militia groups and others, and get the terrorist Revolutionary Guards out. And don't even think about attacking American targets again.

How to respond to Kim Jong Un’s threatening New Year’s remarks? The U.S. should fully resume all canceled or down-sized military exercises in South Korea. Hold Congressional hearings on whether US troops are truly ready to “fight tonight.”

  15. The attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad is straight from Iran's playbook in 1979. It's a sign of Iranian control over Shia militia groups, not a sign of Iraqi anti-Americanism. We must protect our citizens from Iranian belligerence.

  16. U.S. strikes against Iranian-backed Shia militia groups in Iraq and Syria are overdue, but a good first step. The ayatollahs must pay a steep price for their ongoing support for terrorism.

  17. Merry Christmas to all from Nashville!

  18. We say that it's unacceptable for North Korea to obtain nuclear weapons, but that's more rhetorical than a real policy at this point. The risk to US forces & our allies is imminent & more effective policy is required before NK has the technology to threaten the American homeland.

  19. I spoke at length with about our failing policy in North Korea. The idea that we are exerting maximum pressure is just unfortunately not true. Read the full piece here:

  20. We must reject any ICC effort to assert jurisdiction over states like Israel and the United States or their citizens. There can be no compromise and no surrender on this point.
