I invited you to the first meeting at my house Nov 27th but unfortunately you were out of town. It wasn't called #TimesUp cuz we didn't have a name. It was just a group of actresses coming together to see how we could support the brave women coming forward & create lasting change

Why is it a shame to have an uncomfortable dialogue with women who feel unwelcome or excluded? Why isn’t it worth a dialogue...
-
That's not what she said. She said, "none of us got an invitation". "The shame" I believe she is referring to is women blaming other women. Why are so many women deliberately misunderstanding what she said? As if I don't know.

@thandienewton it seems unjust to call it a shame when it's a worthy dialogue that could help clarify and help the movement forward — especially when it involves feelings of exclusion by a woman of color and could lead to more clear guidelines on inclusivity - Show replies

the shame is that women feel excluded, not the dialogue. the dialogue is important for
#TimesUp to do better. -
No one has been uninvited, so if someone feels excluded, they may have a bit of a prima donna problem.

Amber, Thandie Newton has been telling her
#metoo
stories long before it became a hashtag. Long before you spoke up. She did the work and was excluded from the narrative. Such a shame. - Show replies
