I tend to think it’s a good thing for POTUS to take a calculated risk to make a “public” appearance when people were literally having a meltdown and speculating the downfall of our democracy or a national security crisis two days ago. Seems like some people needed that.

Agreed. They were also implying Trump pre-taped “photo ops” implying he was really on his almost “deathbed”. Now they will retract I’m sure.

He could have held a newspaper in front of him. Talked about a current event. There are a lot of ways to show "now" that don't put people at risk. The selfish (*&*&^ chose one that did.
