Strongly agree with this - especially "The language is implemented as a framework" - who do you know who is working in this tradition? Mostly I seem to see just aircraft carriers.

Really too much to list, probably should do a blog post (and add to the site).
Starts conceptually by being architecture/connector oriented, so conceptually any architectural style is supportable.
The language is implemented as a framework (dylib) so embeddable. There is a…

Today's reading finds that pretty much bagged this before - 2009 Onward paper subtext-lang.org/Onward09.pdf reads "Materializing execution in this way .... "

I see there are no hits for "materialised execution" so I'd better bag it. Precedents: 2005 "Subtext 1" paper subtext-lang.org/OOPSLA05.pdf, mine, , , "divergence" paper ppig.org/files/2016-PPI, and of course, Boxer boxer-project.github.io

Remember when smokers all decided to show consideration for other people's health, that they would no longer smoke in doors and it only took common sense instead of laws to get them all to do it?
Nah, it took laws.

There are 1098 species of bryophyte in Britain and Ireland, which represents around 58 percent of the total European flora. Conversely, our islands have less than 20 per cent of the European flowering plants. And we send 4WDs and motorbikes to wreck this habitat?

Maybe someone should train an ML model on the leaked Windows source code and release that as a VS Code plugin? According to MS it's not infringement if the computer types the (verbatim, unmodified) code that you don't have a license to use!

Always interesting when US research propose a technical solution to problems that are successfully addressed elsewhere with policy. You can actually have your head so far into your preferred proceedings, that you become blind ;)

It’s dispiriting to see how destroys so many usable items, as documented by ITV itv.com/news/2021-06-2 and CBC cbc.ca/news/canada/ma
I’m a fan of repair and reuse to make the most of our resources and labor, so it’s frustrating that so much is wasted at the “source”

It's right there. Nobody is stopping you. You could totally spend hours of painstaking labor getting it carried up your front steps or built from a clusterfuck of diffs and patches or whatever. Everyone knows you won't.

Considering the public at large, effectiveness of Pfizer against mortality is at most 85%. The "100%" figure often quoted just reflects results that were seen in trials, where there were not many cases of mortality to compare against. Important that public understands real risks!

This is the kind of jujitsu we can expect more of on identity and race issues I suspect - the Conservatives' goal is to force a framing which makes liberal antiracism look intolerant, and makes their own inaction look like the product of success, rather than acceptance of failure
