Rigidity = having distinct create, deploy, distribute, install, execute steps. Software will always want to merge as many of those steps.

Native mobile apps are simply an artifact of monopoly and market inefficiencies. Software as living breathing animal will always resist being treated in such rigidity.

Fundamental problem is that native app experience and hardware access is generally better than corresponding web app... This will change in time.

Well, that's a monopoly decision. Sandboxing tech is great on the server for example.

Mobile devices were severely performance constrained up until fairly recently. If I’m not mistaken, Android scrolling perf still suffers when garbage collection is invoked.

Web API standardization has also enabled developers to publish mobile web apps with native look'n'feel.

Look yes, feel no. We can absolutely tell when something is a web app because it's really sluggish and drains too much battery in comparison (even if it runs locally).

Native is the only way to get fast performance. Just because you can’t code in native doesn’t make it bad. Good luck putting games on JaveScript; one of the slowest languages in existence

Devices and internet connections over there are slower, so the degraded performance of browser UI and website loading times are much more noticeable.

That's completely irrelevant to last mile connections. You're going to reach the rich with mobile web sites, but even in developed countries like Germany the average data plan doesn't hold up for media (images, web apps) rich browsing.

That's possible. I was thinking chat apps or something like my bank's mobile app (which is a thinly veiled web browser and very sluggish). What do you have in mind?
