“There are ample vaccines. More than 8 billion doses of vaccines have been administered to date. 8 billion. If those had been administered differently, we would be in a very different epidemiologic situation… economic situation… [and] ethical situation.” - @WHO’s @mvankerkhovepic.twitter.com/2idlsAKdqb

She's shocked that rich countries have put their own interests first? It's morally repugnant, sure, but not surprising in the least. The poorest always suffer most in our winner take all world.

We all suffer as a result because it allows the virus to mutate. Its not about countries putting their own interests first either. The only ones benefiting are corporations. The general public wouldn't notice a difference except for getting out of this pandemic faster.

I know it is insane when we had a vaccine that didn’t require major freezing we didn’t send 100s of millions of doses to the lowest income regions of the planet and do stadium style public education in those regions

In the USA you’ve had over 300 million doses administered. How many deaths directly from them? I bet less than 10. You’ve had perhaps 100 million infections of covid. How many deaths from them? Ticking towards 1,000,000 soon enough. You were saying?
