Can a fossil fuel giant like BP be taken seriously that they want to make a green transition? CEO Bernard Looney told me to judge his company by their actions. "I'm not going to try to convince anybody by my words," he says. "You're going to have to judge by our actions."pic.twitter.com/AL5rwGvhTF

They will, but before they will do all so their investments are paid back. And they will do everything so their business model does not disappear. Being also some fuel retailer, having no wage cost because the shop income pays for that.

We can only judge them by past performance and so far it isn’t good. No faith they will change if it involves spending money

If a large corporation came out and said we will be increasing our employee wages 10% and focus on becoming more environmentally friendly but this will decrease earnings by 10% be rewarded in the marketplace after the initial downgrades? What’s wrong with a lowerP/E

The first things that need to be done urgently for the nature are to end the wars in countries such as Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, to downsize and control the arm industry, not to allow the use of private jets, not to allow miners to destroy ecosystems, to plant trees...

They have not done enough in the past say 20 years to make this transition yet there has been enough signals to indicate fossil fuel is sustainable for the world in the long term

No. The biggest polluters, who have lobbied for years against climate policy and CONTINUE TO DO SO, do not get a seat at the table. Their violence shouldn’t be rewarded.

I wonder about the efficacy of these international oil companies. They’re now claiming that their former activities and products followed the market - i.e., it’s our fault. No, no, they lobbied governments, paid for political access, hid pollution but now the Piper must be paid
