DC public health lab now has the capacity to test 150 patients a day. By Tuesday, the public lab can test over 500 patients per day thanks to new equipment. But DC public lab is not testing at capacity. "We can do more and we want to do more," says Dr. Jennifer Smith with DFS.

DC government drive thru is also coming to United Medical Center in Southeast. This is the only public acute health care hospital in DC. It will have the ability to test 300 per day.

Mayor is hosting a community call on COVID-19, where one Ward 8 caller asked about "mass testing." Bowser mentioned today's testing capacity but stressed that testing requires doctor's referral. Bowser says some inspectors are going to check to see that nonessential businesses close. If DC has to issue fines, it will. As for individuals who congregate, she says "we will be urge [you] to move along." That includes those playing basketball games, etc. This is prohibited.
