    In my experience white liberals really really struggle to confront white privilege. threads on schools and whites sending their kids to the “good” schools are a true shit show of white liberal whining.

    There’s a tendency with a lot of white liberals to argue that people like Tucker Carlson or Megyn Kelly aren’t really racist, but just perform racism to pander to the rubes. I think it’s because they don’t want to believe college-educated people can be racist.

    I think it shapes how we deal with it. If racism is just an act, then changing the incentive structure might reduce the racism. But if it’s a sincerely held belief, it’s not going to shift under social pressure.

    Agree on the point you're making. Also not clear it even matters. It's not clear that, for his time, George Wallace was particularly racist. He just saw it was the key to his political success and went with it.

    I hope that the Megyn Kelly blackface incident is educational. Kelly has been trying to portray herself as a friendly-faced morning show host. Unlike on Fox News, she had every reason not to say racist stuff. But she did. Why? Because she believes it.

    Just when you think the NRCC couldn't possibly get more racist, they put out a garbage ad like this. Notice that they never say anything at all about Delgado. Nothing about his past or his positions! We know damn well what they're implying. Cowards.
