  8. I think it shapes how we deal with it. If racism is just an act, then changing the incentive structure might reduce the racism. But if it’s a sincerely held belief, it’s not going to shift under social pressure.

  9. I hope that the Megyn Kelly blackface incident is educational. Kelly has been trying to portray herself as a friendly-faced morning show host. Unlike on Fox News, she had every reason not to say racist stuff. But she did. Why? Because she believes it.

  10. There’s a tendency with a lot of white liberals to argue that people like Tucker Carlson or Megyn Kelly aren’t really racist, but just perform racism to pander to the rubes. I think it’s because they don’t want to believe college-educated people can be racist.
