I had patients and nursing staff tell me “well I gained a lot of weight during the pandemic” like it was the worst thing ever. As a collective, we lived through a pandemic. The emotional toll of that hasn’t been faced, but sure 10 extra lbs is something to get upset over.

i mean people are allowed to be upset over their weight gain.... no one is denying the emotional toll of the pandemic but tryna to invalidate people’s feeling because of a major change they went through with their body...stay blessed and safe tho. xx

And even if you know logically that it absolutely is not, the voice is still kinda there all the time??

I saw a billboard that was themed around pandemic weight and I wanted to do horribly violent things to whatever ad executive came up with it

Yeah, I had some breathing issues that the specialist said I could solve by losing about 20 lbs, this was before the pandemic. I went back in, having failed to lose that weight, gained more, but it was never commented on because nearly everyone has gained weight.
