    Yep. I highly recommend everyone watch Twenty Feet From Stardom, which details how a lot of Black women vocalists kept a check in the 70s and 80s because UK bands like The Stones were obsessed with their sound and kept them in the studio

    I’ve never really listened to The Rolling Stones until now and it’s kind of freaking me out how much of this is just... black music LOL

    The case for “obesity is the real cause of COVID-19 deaths” is overstated because health influencers want to leverage it to build market share and clientele. “Obesity not COVID is the real problem” is a cynical, fake narrative motivated by greed.

    And with most of those apps, it’s actually impossible to block them from enrolling your threads without your consent. Even if you block the Twitter accounts associated with them, that doesn’t stop them. It’s an absolute mess. And it was entirely unnecessary.

    Third-party thread unrolling apps use ads to subsidize their cost, but that means that they are monetizing other peoples work and words. For that reason, many people do not want their threads enrolled in that way, and I can’t blame them. I’d prefer mine aren’t either.

    These third-party thread unrolling apps don’t pull the entire thread of back-and-forth replies that are often extremely informative or critical to a thread’s value. And there’s an even bigger problem.

    Twitter is now blocking the ability for people to see original tweets/threads from quote retweets in Safari, throwing up a sign up/login link whenever you try to click through. Not only does this make threads unreadable, there’s something more insidious as well.
