Very interesting images. I am a meteorologist at CNN. Can all CNN platforms/affiliates use these images in perpetuity if we give you full credit? Thank you.

Yes, of course. It is worth to mention that the lower values are also partly due to New Year holidays, so exactly, how much the quarantine has lowered the NO2 is difficult to say at the moment, but it certainly have an effect.

WoW. Will include in my story if you don't mind

Yes, the new years celebrations certainly affect too, as

Could you please briefly summarize what does this NO2 value mean?
-
These NO2 are satellite observations of nitrogen dioxide in a tropospheric column. NO2 is an air pollutant, much of it is coming from traffic. Because of the virus outbreak, there are much less traffic, and NO2 seems to be well below typical

I checked the surface NO2 from WACCM model. The anthropogenic emissions are from the CMIP6 inventory. I guess they don't include the
#coronavirus situation. Although#TROPOMI detects the column, the surface data can show us the effect.pic.twitter.com/ueSxR7eEuP

Of course, we can download the WACCM data and replace the NO2 profile in TROPOMI product to generate the new air mass factor ... That's similar to what I will do in the later lightning NOx work

I think it is at least partially related to new year celebrations as well, so actually industrial emissions should be also somewhat smaller at the moment...
