    I was skeptical until I verified these clippings at . In 1934, influential religious figures in US argued that Germans did not hate Jews but only supported Hitler out of economic anxiety, & that Jews would be fine if they'd just be civil to Nazis & show good will.

    • Individualism. Many white people don't associate w/ a collective “white experience,” instead relying on their personal frames of reference. This ideology also furthers the notion that racism is an exception to the rule, carried out in single acts of discrimination.

    • New after the movement. DiAngelo illustrates that racism, like many systems of oppression, has not disappeared or receded, but adapted. By claiming or not seeing race, white people deny the reality of people of color.
