Here’s some life advice. And I know many of you are passionate about what you do and are proud of what you’ve accomplished. But a good life recommendation is to never be so desiring to work for an employer that you’re willing to sidestep your life for it.

Don’t take a pay cut to move across the country for an employer. Dont accept less than what you need to survive comfortably. Sometimes this involves analyzing where you are and what you want out of life.

When I moved out to California and got the job at Blizzard; I negotiated hard. I almost didn’t move here. I turned the offer down twice before they came back with the right number.
