Stumbled across this marching band on YouTube. I can’t believe how insane they are. And here I thought marching for 2 miles was rough while playing my trumpet back in the day.https://youtu.be/UdTK3s6e7dM

I was first chair in 10th grade. And to this day I still remember the marching cadence. I don’t think anyone in a marching band has forgotten theirs after spending so much time marching to it.

We would begin practice a few weeks before school officially started. Then marching practice every other day into November. In addition to every Thursday night. And then the performances we had on top of that. Last official march for a season was thanksgiving day parade.

Would switch to concert band for the Winter. And pick marching back up for the Spring.

Btw. Playing a brass instrument in the cold *sucks*. Would have to keep mouthpiece in pocket to keep that warm. But instrument sounded like crap when it was 40 outside. Lol.

You’d have to blow hot breaths into it! I played bass clarinet for 15 years. I also did marching band, jazz band, orchestra, pep band... the list goes on #bando
