What's your message here? If you're saying that we *should* be able to imply that someone accused of a heinous crime committed an even more heinous crime, I'm on his side. If you're saying his argument was valid but was presented in an insensitive way, I'm leaning to your side.

...but if your point was the latter, you can't simultaneously imply that he's a bad person just for defending a bad person for what he believed to be sound reasons.
