I learned this a few years back and tried starting a vegetable garden to save money. The kids never left the tomatoes and peppers long enough to can them lol

But you can do tomatoes in those hanging pots (I forget the name) to save room on your porch, or various pots, herbs on a windowsill. Even in an apartment you can take on gardening. You get fresh air, fresh fruits and veggies, your wallet will thank you and it's uber relaxing

A lot of grocery stores sell seeds and seedlings. It should be pointed out too that you don't need a garden. Some dirt in a bucket on a balcony that gets sunlight will work for things like tomatoes and peppers even leaf lettuce.
