My ancestors arrived prior to the 1862 Homestead Act, but please go on...

Mine arrived well after, and worked in metalurgy, manufacturing, and some joined the military during WWII. No welfare. No free land. Worked hard, learned English, took the oath, and gave up all loyalties to their former countries to become American. How it should be done.

Show something authentic where immigrants were "given" land. The public works projects were implemented to create jobs, & those who got them appreciated it. Unlike those forcing their way in now, they loved American culture & our values. They WANTED to assimilate in it.

I have a few ancestors who fought in and were here before the Revolutionary war. Whoever fought was given land as payment.

And do you know ANYBODY that was GIVEN LAND?? I do not , AND if you were lucky enough to be granted land, YOU MUST be able to build home your self, supplies, labor, etc. 90% of land given was west of the Mississippi river

Not mine, not even close. But please go on with how that “relates” to today. (Hint: it doesn’t)
