Few people understand SaaS like this team does. If you are an early stage SaaS entrepreneur, consider this seriously. Also, unit economics and low burn is back in fashion - learn from the masters of that trade!

One of the best SaaS teams in the countries showing that they can excel at fun as much as they can at SaaS - wat to go 👍👍

Indeed - this was impossible to imagine even until sometime back. And these are tech behemoths that everyone has a view on. Predictability in tech markets is worse than poker where math can actually be used to compute probabilities!

(13/n) Lot has happened in computing since in the last 24 years back. I missed the waves of distributed computing, Java, cloud/ mobile apps, AWS/ Azure….but I am happy to restart with Python today, and looking forward to unlearning/ relearning! Would love to hear your stories!

(12/n) Finally, my last brush for computing that ended in 1996 once I joined McK. Worked at where I worked on improving performance of an ASIC simulator through assembly programming on Sun SPARC5 - one of the best machines ever!

(10/n) In 1994, just before I graduated from UT Austin, had the chance to take a course with Prof. Dijkstra, regarded as the father of modern comp science. One of my most prized photos. He taught me how to derive (and note: not write) programs

(9/n) In the summer of 1993, worked in Redmond as part of a team to develop a sub $100 printer in collaboration with Compaq. Wrote the device drivers. My first in a long list of aborted/ unsuccessful projects.

(8/n) My most memorable - developed a speech recognition system as my thesis . Did this on an HP-Unix workstation. 100 words, discrete speech, speaker dependent. Picture shows the machine and my partner . This was my first brush with AI

(7/n) A prof asked a friend of mine & I to develop an ERP for the commercial division of . Prize - a return ticket anywhere in India. That was more than what we needed :-) Wrote that on top of Microsoft Access. First exposure to “enterprise software”

(6/n) Read an article in the Scientific American in 1990 summer about Fractals & got fascinated by them. Ran overnight programs on a 386/ 486 PC to build fractals. One of the most fun programming I have done. Also amazing to find how much mathematics there is in biology

(5/n) In 1988 Delhi, started learning PASCAL on the ICL 2960 mainframes. Massive room for one computer for a 4MB RAM!! Green terminals that took forever to do anything. There was no concept of a debugger on a mainframe. Ours was the last batch in IITD to use a mainframe.
