TBH, the internet did to them what they said the internet would do to us too. Can't stress enough how much my boomer relatives said "be careful, don't believe everything you read on the internet" in the early 00s to now believing every stupid boomer meme they see.

Pretty sure that has a lot to do with how their assumed demographic of who was posting on the internet changed (misfits, punks, hackers, nerds -> "respectable" white adults).

The fact that so many grown men believe ridiculous conspiracy theories is proof that we're running headfirst into a wall with education and common sense.

Do you believe conspiracies happen? If not why? If so what ones do you believe in? Curious to know.

Put another way, if FOX News and Facebook had done to their kids what it has done to them, they would be the first to scream for them to be banned and everyone involved locked up Which is how I feel we should respond to FOX News and Facebook

Ironic opposite. My friend’s middle-aged daughter is the FoxNews/Facebook-indoctrinated person. So frustrating for her when she has to fend off attempts at indoctrination by her daughter and son-in-law.
