    🙏🏼

    They stormed beaches facing a hail of bullets, parachuted behind enemy lines, manned ships and planes. It was hell. They knew many of them would die or be severely wounded. They fought for freedom and each other. We are indebted to their heroism & sacrifice. . 77 years ago.

    On this I love to share this video. French caretakers take the sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy and scrub them into the letters to give them the brown/gold coloring. They do this for all 9,386 soldiers who died. France also gave us this land as American soil.

    Right on . Emulating and learning from the past can lead to great things in all domains, including football. We foster this idea and it’s important for players to use strong fundamentals to build improvisation skills and decision making.

    I see a comparison in football with creative players who study & copy great players building a library of moves & experimenting to adapt them to their own repertoire - then playing them in different rhythms, didn’t Guardiola say Foden needed to play in a “combination of rhythms?”

    N'Golo Kanté & Riyad Mahrez, perhaps the standouts from these semi-finals, were both playing amateur football at 21 - they were both playing in Ligue 2 at 23.
