    This is like saying we’re not accepting manuscripts from scientists who drink tea, only from coffee drinkers. Ridiculous!!!

    #1: We just received this rejection letter: We regret to inform you that Journal of Child & Family Studies is unable to accept your manuscript. The journal is transitioning to publication of just quantitative papers as of 2018, and only quantitative papers are now being reviewed.

    Hey, instead of saying you "discovered" something, like a genre of music or a culinary delight, you could say you were "introduced to" it. This avoids colonizing language AND lets you practice some good citational politics by saying who taught you about the thing.

    Absolute bullshit. Conflating ‘political correctness’ (ie. not being able sexually harass women, not being able to make wild racial slurs, being decent to LGBT people) with thought policing that doesn’t allow people to come up with good tech ideas is both bad logic and dangerous.
