Is there a good word in some language for a “problem in need of solving”||“problem in want of a solution”?
(I will accept viable coinage candidates, in lieu of preëxistent candidates...can’t think of any appropriate English words.)

there's no single german word for it either, neither "ungelöst" nor "offen" of "ungelöstes/offenes Problem" are particularly sticky, as in they don't bond with words much

It seems insane to me that I haven't been collecting "what questions are we asking"-oriented words||phrases||proverbs for years. Major oversight on my part. I think "open problem" *does* suit it well. Methinks staring at spreadsheets all week has knocked me loose of words.
