this is definitely a thing, PHP accent is one of the worst for example and I've been told my JS looks like OCaml
or a recent conversation: "this C looks like haskell" "well you know the saying, a dedicated enough programmer can write haskell in any language"

Yep, I've heard this terminology a number of times before. The one I recall is in "The R Inferno" -
From page 17, "This is speaking R with a C accent—a strong accent"
