"Lederhosen" in German just means "leather pants" and is used for _all_ types of leather pants, not just the weird overall-with-shorts kind.

that's the "overall" kind (which also exists in leather form) but I meant the "classic" Lederhosen (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lederhose)

there were these really short ones that were iconic post-war pants and they definitely had a name, but I forgot it
