Would it be rude to ask how old you are? (I’m kind of guessing you weren’t around during what I call the “subcultural era”)

Not saying that was better, but that it was very different from, e.g., 4chan, which is “atomized” in my taxonomy.

thing is imageboards consist not only of boards, but also lots of small cabals that cluster around it (irc, skype, teamspeak…)
