I think Babbitt lacks perspective. Composers have never been able to support themselves with concerts except maybe in C19th

modern music has an extremely rich repertoire of instruments and rhythms, it's def not primitive

harmonies and composition are boring to me, but many tracks I save because they did one cool thing with the synth
